Solutions Architect
Our company seeks a Solutions Architect with prior Java experience that will work with the Enterprise Architect to improve the architecture of existing applications and expand the organization's portfolio. As a start-up organization, you will be on the ground floor as our development team continues to build the next generation of our product line. You will be responsible for the high-level design of internal applications, in addition to web-based and mobile applications for our clients. In this position you will also serve as a mentor to other developers and assist with development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interface with business users to analyze and design cost-effective solutions
• Evaluate requirements and select appropriate technologies and standards for application development
• Design. develop and modify software applications according to client requirements
• Track progress of application development from design to construction phases
• Conduct code reviews and supervise QA processes, including integration and systems testing
• Produce and contribute technical documents as needed using UML and other modeling standards
• Assist with programming, debugging and performance tuning as needed
• Review current best practices for the selected frameworks and work with the development team to ensure compliance within the application
• Assist the Enterprise Architect with creating the organization's technology roadmap
Skills and Experience:
• Possess a B.S. Computer Science, Engineering or related degree
• At least 6 years prior work experience as a Sr. Software Engineer with an emphasis in J2EE applications
• At least 4 years prior work experience as a technical lead
• At least 4 years of experience working with SOA and SOAP services
• At least 4 years of prior work experience with high-level design and architecture
• At least 4 years of experience in data modeling and converting business requirements into workable database modeling in either Oracle, DB2 or SQL server
• Familiarity with architecture standards and frameworks
• Experience with complex distributed computing environments
• Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
• Experience with Java-related frameworks and object-relational mapping
• Prior work experience in detailed component design and UML-fluent
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and organize tasks
• Understanding of and experience with Agile methodologies
Other Qualifications:
• Prior work experience with Ajax
• Prior work experience with MySQL
• Prior experience with open-source Java application services such as WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss etc.
• Prior work experience with mobile development for iOS or Android
• Ability to understand and manage stakeholder expectations
• Experience with SDLC
Salary and Compensation:
• Salary range $100,000-$125,000
